Mount Street Printers · Luxury, Retail

Brief

Established in 1981, Mount Street Printers has built a reputation as one of Mayfair’s finest printing houses, holding a Royal Warrant and producing bespoke luxury stationery. Their craft blends antique presses with contemporary technology, creating timeless work for private clients, businesses and international brands. Having worked with the team for many years, we understood both their heritage and their ambition to reposition themselves. They wanted to shift perceptions: from being seen primarily as printers for individuals to being recognised as a creative partner to design agencies and the wider industry, while holding onto the craftsmanship that sets them apart.

Approach

The rebrand drew on the familiar signwritten livery of their Mayfair shopfront, which we digitised and developed into a custom typeface. This included variable weights and inktraps designed for practical use, allowing the in-house design team and printers to fine-tune impressions across different materials. The new identity is supported by a website that highlights case studies, international client projects and an eCommerce platform for seasonal products. Photography and film bring the detail of their craft to life, while packaging and stationery now follow a more circular ethos — repurposing offcuts and shifting from a fixed blue paper stock to a flexible system of printing blue onto varied papers. This approach not only reduces waste but showcases the company’s hallmark: Making Impressions.
