Reframing a classic

Adrian Alan · Retail, Luxury

Brief

Established in 1964 and based in Mayfair, Adrian Alan is a leading antique dealer serving collectors, museums and designers worldwide. Over time, the business had accumulated a number of visual assets, each created with good intention but not necessarily in harmony with one another. A brand audit revealed multiple competing logos, creating inconsistency across touchpoints and weakening the sense of heritage that is central to the business. The challenge was to bring everything back into a single, coherent identity without losing the character built up over decades.

Approach

We created a unified marque by digitising the gallery’s longstanding shopfront signage. This became the foundation of the identity. Familiar to existing clients, but refined for broader application. It provides a single point of reference that brings consistency across all touchpoints while maintaining a strong connection to the gallery’s physical presence. The website was designed to reflect the same sense of restraint and authority. Layout, typography and photography are carefully considered to give space to the objects themselves, allowing them to be experienced without distraction. The result is a coherent identity and digital presence that feels rooted in heritage while remaining clear, refined and appropriate for a contemporary audience.
